Australian Native Flora Oil Pastels!

Year 3 students are enjoying using bright colours, simple shapes and adding a little bit of texture to create gorgeous native wildflowers images.

They have been inspired by the style of artist, Ken Done, an iconic Australian artist who has bought the beauty and colour of Australia to many throughout the world with his gorgeous paintings.

All flowers are those found in our own backyard, photographed at King's Park, during the wildflower season last year when we show cased our talents with our 'Flowering Wattle' woven wildflower creation for the King's Park Woven Wildflower art installation.

Students selected multiple bright colours they identified in their flowers, used oil pastel blending techniques and finally added a touch of texture to create these simple but absolutely beautiful wildflower drawings.
