Ros Worthington's
The Magic of Mothers!
Several classes created love angels which were sold at the Ros Worthington charity event to raise money for Telethon and the Bali Kids Centre. A massive 'Thank You!' to the wonderful parents who helped during these classes. A fantastic effort by all the students who created the angels. They were absolutely adorable!

Picasso Portraits!
The Year 2s were inspired by the style of Pablo Picasso to create these hilarious portraits. Using his Abstract Art style, they created a face with features using different shapes and lines. They then ruled lines on the skin of their faces to create triangles. This gave it the Cubism style typical of Picasso’s artworks. Using water-coloured pencils they coloured from a corner of each triangle in a fan shape. Then they added water to turn the pencil into paint, creating dark and light in each triangle. Finally, they used permanent marker to add colour to their features.

Themed Drawings!
The Year 4s have used these fantastic themed drawings to flaunt their artistic skills and ideas. Using the theme of ‘friendship’ and the elements of art they created a picture that showed all the techniques they have learnt. Shape and line created their image. Colours were used and created to highlight key features in their artwork. Texture was added to show how certain things might feel. They showed depth in their artwork (space) by incorporating techniques such as overlapping, size and creating a horizon line to show the foreground, middle ground and background. Some also used darker colours to represent shadows (value) on their objects.

Lunchtime Art!
Many students take the opportunity to get creative in the Art Room every Wednesday and Friday at lunchtime. Some of their creative endeavours include, paper mache sculptures, bottle top artwork and dyed string flowers. Other's are working on their Therapy Focus illustrations and painting letters for our WA Week art installation.

Therapy Focus Art Competition!
Year 1, 3 and 5 classes are beginning their illustrations for this year's Therapy Focus Help A Child Grow Art Competition. The story this year is called, If I Met A Baboon Who Lost His Balloon and is written by Sean E Avery and encourages readers to look past differences and celebrate the unique abilities of every individual. It follows a young adventurer who sets out to help and make friends with various animals they meet on their journey.
