The Power of Tiki
Year 3 classes have been exploring the different things you can do when using clay tools. They created a Tiki totem, which is believed by many Polynesian cultures to bring the creator the power of Tiki and protect the village. Firstly, they rolled and cut a rectangle out of their clay. Then by scooping, scratching and imprinting the clay tools they formed the features of their Tiki which they had researched beforehand. They also used the score and slip method of attaching clay to create raised features. The results were amazing and extremely creative.
