Year 1

Thursday, 8 June 2017

Year 1, 3 and 5 classes have started their illustrations for the 2017 Therapy Focus Art Competition. This year's story is, 'Ben Tries to Fly' by Eddie Drury.
Students will be focusing on foreground, middle ground and background as well as overlapping to create depth in their drawings. They will also be using stick figures to show character movement and then practise making them look more realistic by adding double lines.

Room 9 is using the rainy weather we have been having to inspire their next piece of art work. It will include a self portrait of themselves under an umbrella.

Room 22 is giving us their own thoughts as to what the 'Mona Lisa' by Vincent Van Gogh might be thinking. They are colouring an image of the Mona Lisa in colours they would like and using a thought bubble to write what she is thinking.

Year 2 classes are creating some beautiful, colourful parrots whose feathers are made from their hand prints and are arranged in the order of the Colour Wheel.

Year 4 students are looking at the colourful and detailed art work of James Rizzi. They will be creating their own cityscape painting in his style of Pop Art.

Year 6 classes are creating clay busts using multiple clay tools to form the head and neck shape and then to add their facial features.
