We have had a brilliant start to the year in the Art Room. Welcome back to all our little budding artists and a warm welcome to our new students and Year 1 classes.
Lunch Time Art will be held on Tuesday lunchtimes this year. I look forward to helping inspire the individual and collaborative artworks the children create.
We are also in need of newspapers. It would be greatly appreciated if you could bring in your old newspapers. Thank you to those who have already done so and have spread the word for us!
Happy Creating!

Year 1’s have had fun mixing Primary Colours with their finger to make Secondary Colours. They used their own ideas to create paintings using all the colours.
Year 2’s have been revising the colour theory. They blended the Primary colours to make Secondary colours and used their paintings to create beautiful symmetrical butterflies.
Year 3’s have explored hues, tints and shades. They created paintings that included all three, using them to create a Koala in a tree scene with implied texture.
Year 4’s have started the year with a clay project. They are creating textured teddy bears to use as paper weights.
Year 5’s have also been created teddy paper weights. They are focusing on additional detail to enhance the overall appearance. They also improving their score and slip technique when attaching clay pieces together.
Year 6’s are creating 'derivative artworks' by recreating a portrait from a famous artist and adding a slight change. They have chosen their own medium to add colour to their artwork. Stay turned to find out how they will slightly change the original to make it their own masterpiece.
