Year One Fun!
Year One students have created some gorgeous symmetrical butterflies out of clay. For some of them, this was the first time they had ever used clay. It is a tricky medium to use because if you play with it too much (which is always fun to do) it dries out, crumbles and doesn't do what you want it to.
They also learnt a lot of clay terms such as kiln - the oven we cook the clay in. Fire - term used for cooking the clay and score and slip - what we have to do when we attach two pieces of clay together.
The results were amazing and everyone was very proud of their beautiful butterflies.

They have also been painting a scene of their Christmas traditions. Selected paintings will then be entered into the 2016 Hasluck Christmas Card Art Competition. Winning entries will be featured on Ken Wyatt's parliamentary Christmas cards. Good luck to all the students's whose artwork is entered.
