What a brilliant start to our Term 3 Visual Arts. We are already congratulating two of our talented students on their achievements.
Well done to Rishitha who won first place in the Shaun Tan Young Arts Awards with her art work titled, 'My Earth Dream'. Rishitha was awarded her certificate and prize in a beautiful ceremony at the Subiaco Library on Monday. Finalists, family and friends were able to view all the artworks at an opening of the exhibition before Shaun Tan himself presented the awards, interviewed the students and spoke a little on what impressed him about their art works.
You can view Rishitha's and the other finalist at the Subiaco Library until Sunday 6th August. You can also view them on the library's website in the 2017 web gallery
We are also congratulating Shreya, whose artwork will feature in the published storybook, 'Ben Tries to Fly', which will be officially unveiled at a Book Launch event during National Children's Book Week.

I am always impressed and proud of the achievements of all the students at Wattle Grove Primary, so it is always wonderful to see all their efforts and hard work acknowledged through community events as well.
